Founding his own Film Harmonic Orchestra in 1992 Guenter A. Buchwald now is conductor for "film in concert" all over the world. His repertoire includes all "Silent Classics" by Charlie Chaplin, Fritz Lang, F.W. Murnau, Sergej Eisenstein as well as his own compositions.

Silent Movie Music CompanyGünter A. Buchwald - Matthias Stich - Mike Schweizer - Frank Bockius in Kyoto, Japan

In 1985 Günter A. Buchwald founded with his friends the Silent Movie Music Company. Their film in concert performances in Europe and Asia proves their attractivity and their spontaneuos improvisations always find a huge acclaim by the public.

They sometimes have been asked from which soundtrack the music came or if would be possible to have a look to the score: the ensemble feels honoured bau have to deny: only if the music is not louder than the film the group feels to have done the right job: as an even partner to the movie, a counterpoint in the best musical meaning.

Guenter A. Buchwald and his rich experiences as musician in ensembles for different music and styles ( medieval, renaissance, baroque orchestra, classical music, contemporary avantgarde music, jazz, klezmer-yewish, celtic (breton and irish) as well as concertmaster and bandleader in great demand as musical mate and enables him to act and react instantly with other musicians

Together with Frank Bockius on percussions he builds the  SILENT MOVIE MUSIC COMPANY duo; their repertoire is as huge as Guenter´s solo repertoire

Neil Brand and Guenter A. Buchwald form a successful duo since 2001, highly acclaimed at festivals (British Silent, Nottingham, Giornate del Cinema Muto Pordenone, Int. Zeltmusikfestival Freiburg, Int. Stummfilmtage Bonn). They both founded the international Prima Vista Social Club
